The 2015 MountainFilm Festival presented by the River Exchange at the California Theater in Dunsmuir on May 15th and 16th was a great success!. The audience came from throughout Siskiyou County, and as far as Redding and Southern Oregon, and enjoyed dynamic and inspiring adventure films. The theater was filled for the Saturday evening show to see legendary fly fishing guide Frank Moore present his film “Mending the Line”. Frank is a WWII veteran, who, having fought at the Battle of the Bulge, dreamed of returning someday to fish in Normandy. After this moving 40 minute film detailing Frank ‘s journey before and during the war, and his process of healing and eventual return to Normandy in his 90’s with his wife Jeanne, the crowds remained for a question and answer session with Frank and Jeanne.
The following is a note from Frank and Jeanne Moore:
Words cannot express how much we appreciated and enjoyed our all too short visit to your wonderful city and vicinity. I regret so much we did not have time to stay and enjoy the fishing and searching for wild flowers that have to be abundant there. As Gen. MacArthur said, "I (We) shall return"!
We were amazed at how much caring love we received from the people of your area, and we are so grateful.
Love to all, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH DUNSMUIR,
Frank and Jeanne Moore (Mending The Line)
