For over twenty years, the River Exchange has accomplished important projects and provided the community with educational events and programs. We fill a unique role in our region, bringing together a wide range of people in order to exchange information and promote watershed stewardship.

The River Exchange feels strongly about the importance community involvement plays in our mission to promote watershed stewardship, restoration and education. Ongoing support and participation from those who value our mission is crucial to achieve the organization’s goals. We welcome you to become an active part of the work we do by becoming a member or volunteering with us!

  • Plan a presentation or movie for our Sustainable Watershed Series, or assist in outreach to schools

  • Get to know the watershed better by helping us update our river recreation handouts with topics including: local swimming holes, hiking & biking trails, river access points, rafting & kayaking, and fishing

  • Help us get the word out by developing a slideshow to tell the story of the River Exchange, Design new informational brochures about the River Exchange and our projects.

  • Lend a helping hand at our office or at our Events

  • Secure funding by researching new grant opportunities online

We invite you to tell us how you would like to get involved. Simply mail or fax us a Volunteer Questionnaire, or give us a call to chat about how you’d like to get involved.  We’d be happy to call on you when an opportunity arises to lend your unique interests and skills to our work.

Your support is valuable to us, and helps to ensure that we can serve the community for years to come. When you get involved with the River Exchange, you help protect the Upper Sacramento River’s water quality, instill watershed stewardship in our youth, and provide opportunities for future watershed restoration projects. Thank you for your interest in the River Exchange and for all that you do to promote healthy watersheds.
